RSS Namespaces

RSS namespaces are the XML mechanism that lets feeds carry extra, structured data beyond the core RSS specification, using prefixed tags like media:content, itunes:duration, and dc:creator. They power much of what auto-posting tools rely on for accurate images, podcast metadata, and author attribution. This tag collects technical explainers on how namespaces work, which ones matter most for auto-posting, and how to diagnose problems when a namespaced tag is missing or malformed. The two worth checking first are media:content, which decides whether an image travels, and the iTunes tags, which carry podcast metadata. If an image is missing at the destination, this is usually where the answer is.
