Reddit Alternatives

This tag covers the community platforms people move to when Reddit stops suiting them, and what automated publishing looks like on each. Lemmy is the main one — the Fediverse's link aggregator, which grew sharply after the 2023 Reddit API changes and which PostRSS can post to from the Start plan. The articles explain how posting into a community works, why a link post behaves differently from a social post, and why the etiquette matters more here than anywhere else. Community platforms are moderated by volunteers who can remove an automated account in a moment, so we are consistently explicit about asking first and sending the narrow feed rather than everything you publish. Where a platform has no publishing interface at all, we say so rather than suggesting a scraper.
