Facebook Stories

This tag covers what's realistically possible when it comes to auto-posting content into Facebook Stories, as distinct from a Page's main news feed. You'll find an honest look at Meta's API restrictions around Stories publishing, why RSS feed content (a link plus a horizontal thumbnail) is a structurally awkward fit for the vertical Stories format, and what limited workarounds exist. It also covers why most automation tools, including RSS-based ones, focus their efforts on the Page feed instead. If you've been searching for a way to automatically push blog updates into Stories, read this before assuming it's a solved problem. The related Facebook tags cover what does work, which is publishing to a Page. Meta closed automated posting to Groups in April 2024, and personal profiles have never had a publishing API, so Pages are the whole of it.
