Facebook has its own setup page: our auto-post RSS to Facebook walkthrough covers the connection and the template fields.
The same article rarely works as the same post on both networks. A Facebook Page post has room for a title, a sentence or two of description and a large link preview, while a post on X has to fit a strict character limit. PostRSS handles this by giving every target its own settings. You connect one feed, add a Facebook Page target and an X target, and choose a separate message format for each.
PostRSS offers nine message formats built from the item title, the item description, the page title or your own static text. A common setup is title plus description for Facebook and title only for X, where PostRSS trims titles and links automatically so a post is not cut off in the middle of a word. The image comes from the feed item or, if the item has none, from the Open Graph tags of the linked page, so both networks show a real picture instead of a bare link.
Facebook Pages are available on every PostRSS plan, including the Free plan, which makes Facebook the easiest place to test your feed. Posting to X starts on the Ultimate plan at $40 per month, which also includes 50 targets, 125,000 posts per month and phone support. Note that on Facebook PostRSS posts to Pages only: Meta closed the publishing API for Groups in April 2024, so no tool can automate Groups or personal profiles any more. The pricing page lists the current limits of each plan.
PostRSS checks your feed every 5 minutes on all plans and every minute on Enterprise plans. If your site publishes in bursts, the maximum number of posts per update and the order setting (newer first, older first or random) keep your Page and your X profile from receiving a long run of posts in a single minute. On paid plans you can also set posting windows or exact posting times on chosen days in your own time zone.
Keyword filters decide what gets through: for each source you list words to include or exclude, and PostRSS checks them against the item title and description. This is useful when one feed carries both news for your audience and internal updates that should stay off social media. To measure the results, add query parameters such as utm_source=postrss to every link so your analytics shows what each network brings.
Yes. Connect the feed once and add a Facebook Page target and an X target. Each target has its own message format, filters and schedule, so the same article can be posted differently on each network.
No. PostRSS posts to Facebook Pages only, because Meta shut down the Facebook Groups publishing API in April 2024. Groups and personal profiles cannot be automated by any tool.
Posting to X starts on the Ultimate plan at $40 per month. Facebook Pages are available on every plan, including the Free plan.
PostRSS checks your feed every 5 minutes on all plans and every minute on Enterprise plans, so new items are usually posted within minutes of going live, unless you set posting windows.
Yes. PostRSS takes the picture from the feed item or from the Open Graph tags of the linked page, so posts carry the real article image.
