What a Facebook Post From Your Feed Looks Like

For every new item in your feed, PostRSS publishes one post on the Facebook Page you chose. Facebook builds the large link preview card from the page you link to, using its title and featured image, so the post looks like a native share rather than a bare link. You decide the text above the card with one of nine message formats built from the item title, the item description, the page title or your own static text.

The picture comes from the feed item (an enclosure, a media:content tag or the first image in the item) or, if the feed has none, from the Open Graph tags of the page. If previews look wrong, check that your pages carry correct og:image, og:title oraz og:url tags; our guide on posting a link with a large image thumbnail explains the tags in detail.

Connecting Your Facebook Page Step by Step

1. Create a PostRSS account and add your RSS or Atom feed as a source. WordPress users can install the official plugin, which builds the feed for you.
2. Connect Facebook through Facebook’s own login. When Meta asks which Pages PostRSS may use, tick every Page you want to post to.
3. Create a target by choosing the feed and the Page, then pick a message format.
4. Adjust the settings: keyword filters, the maximum number of posts per update, the order of items, and on paid plans the posting windows.

If a Page does not appear after connecting, use the Synchronize link in the Accounts menu, or connect again and make sure the Page is selected in Meta’s dialog.

Plans and Posting Limits for Facebook

Facebook Pages are available on every PostRSS plan. The Free plan posts 10 posts per month to one Facebook Page, which is enough to test the whole process. The Start plan at $5 per month raises that to 500 posts per month, and higher plans add more targets and other networks, so the same feed can go to several Pages and to other channels at once. Facebook Groups and personal profiles cannot be automated. Meta closed the Groups publishing API in April 2024, so PostRSS, like every other tool, posts to Pages only.
