Short answer: add a group robot to the WeCom (WeChat Work) group chat you want posts in and copy its webhook address — that is the only credential needed, with no signing key and no developer registration. In PostRSS open Accounts → Add new WeCom account and paste it, then open Cibles → Add feed, choose WeCom in Target settings and add your feed under Add source (Type = RSS feed, Link = your feed address). Each new item arrives as a card with its title, summary, image and link. WeCom is included from the Professional plan ($10/month).

WeCom, also called WeChat Work or 企业微信, is Tencent's workplace product. It is a separate application from consumer WeChat but connected to it, which is why so many Chinese companies use it for internal chat and for customer groups at the same time. A group robot turns any of those chats into a destination for your RSS feed.

The simplest of the three to connect

PostRSS supports three Chinese workplace suites — Feishu / Lark, DingTalk and WeCom — and WeCom is the least fiddly of them. Feishu and DingTalk both issue a signing key alongside the webhook and require you to choose a security mode. WeCom does not: the key is embedded in the webhook URL, and possession of that URL is the authorisation. One field, and you are connected.

That also means the URL deserves the same care as a password. Anyone who has it can post into the group, so do not paste it into a public repository, a shared document or a ticket.

Creating the robot, step by step

  1. Open the WeCom group chat that should receive the posts. You need to be able to manage the group.
  2. Open the group's menu — the … control in the corner of the chat — and choose to add a group robot.
  3. Create a new robot and give it a name the group will recognise.
  4. Copy the webhook URL. It looks like https://qyapi.weixin.qq.com/cgi-bin/webhook/send?key=…. There is no separate secret to note down.
  5. In PostRSS, open Accounts → Add new WeCom account and paste the webhook address.
  6. Open Targets → Add feed, choose WeCom in Target settings, then Add source with Type = RSS feed and your feed address in Link. Save.
  7. Publish something and watch it arrive. PostRSS checks the feed every 5 minutes, so the wait is short.

What the group sees

Each new item is delivered as a card: the article title, a short summary, the image from the feed item, and a link to the original. Tapping it opens the article in WeCom's browser. Items without an image render as a card without one — the integration cannot supply a picture the feed does not carry.

Rate limits

A WeCom group robot is limited to 20 messages per minute. Going over it throttles the robot temporarily rather than blocking it for good. An RSS feed checked every 5 minutes will not get near that, since it sends one message per new item; the limit is worth knowing only if you plan to run several busy feeds into a single group or to push a backlog through at once. Splitting feeds across separate targets solves both cases.

Internal chat, customer groups, and what this is not

WeCom is used for two quite different things, and the distinction matters when deciding what to send. Internal team chats are the obvious home for release notes, status pages and blog updates. Customer-facing groups — a feature WeCom is unusual in offering — can also take a feed, but the bar for relevance is much higher: a group of customers will tolerate product announcements and tolerate very little else. Point a filtered feed at those, not your whole blog.

When messages stop arriving

  • The robot was deleted. Any group administrator can remove it, and delivery stops silently. Recreate it and paste the new webhook.
  • The webhook was regenerated. The old URL stops working immediately; update it in PostRSS.
  • Rate limit reached. Throttling is temporary. Spread high-volume feeds across separate targets.
  • No image on the card. The source feed item has none. Check the raw feed before assuming a fault.
  • Nothing new in the feed. PostRSS publishes items that appear after the Target starts running; it does not backfill an archive.

Group chats are not public feeds

This is the one thing worth being clear about before you set anything up. A group bot posts into a conversation — a team channel, a customer group, a community room. It does not publish to a public timeline, nobody outside the group sees it, and there is no follower count attached to it. That makes it excellent for internal distribution, release notes, support announcements and community updates, and useless as a marketing channel on its own.

If what you actually want is to publish articles to a Chinese public audience, the destination for that is a WeChat Official Account, which PostRSS supports from Professional Plus at $20/month for approved accounts. And to answer the question that always follows: Bilibili is not supported, and not because of a missing integration — its publishing API requires a Chinese legal entity, which puts it out of reach for a company registered elsewhere.

Which plan includes it

It is part of the Professional plan at $10/month, the same tier as Discord, Pinterest boards, VKontakte, Tumblr, Nostr, WordPress and Blogger. Feishu / Lark, DingTalk and WeCom all sit there together, so one subscription covers all three if your organisation uses more than one. Professional allows 10 targets and 10,000 posts a month; each group you post into is one target. An annual subscription is 20% cheaper. Exact limits per tier are on the pricing page, and the full lineup of 26 networks is on the supported networks page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does WeCom need a signing key like Feishu and DingTalk?

No. The key is part of the webhook URL, so pasting that one address is the whole authorisation. It also means the URL should be treated as a secret — anyone holding it can post into the group.

Is WeCom the same thing as WeChat?

No. WeCom, or WeChat Work, is Tencent’s workplace application, separate from consumer WeChat although connected to it. Posting to a public Chinese audience means a WeChat Official Account, which is a different destination on a different plan tier.

Do posts include the article image?

Yes, when the feed item has one. WeCom items arrive as a card with title, summary, image and link. A feed item with no image produces a card without one.

What is the rate limit?

Twenty messages per minute per group robot, after which the robot is throttled temporarily. A feed checked every 5 minutes does not approach it unless several high-volume feeds share one group.

Can I post into a customer group rather than an internal one?

Technically yes, and it is one of the things WeCom is genuinely good for. Editorially, be selective: send a filtered feed of product and service announcements rather than every blog post, because a customer group’s tolerance for volume is far lower than a team’s.

Can I reach Bilibili or Xiaohongshu this way?

No. Neither is a workplace chat, and neither is supported. Bilibili in particular requires a Chinese legal entity for API publishing, which puts it out of reach regardless of tooling.

The bottom line

WeCom is the quickest of the three Chinese workplace destinations to connect: one webhook URL, no signing key, no developer account. Create the group robot, paste the address into PostRSS, point a Target at your feed, and every new article arrives as a card in the chat your colleagues or customers already use. It is on the Professional plan at $10/month, alongside Feishu / Lark and DingTalk.
